Separated at birth?

So I was looking at my 2008 Allen & Ginter cards tonight (and by the way, I only need two more to complete the set – #307 and #341) when I spotted card #6 in the set, Brian Barton of the St. Louis Cardinals:


Wait a minute, I thought to myself, is that Brian Barton or is that Darnell “Crabman” Turner from one of my favorite TV shows, My Name is Earl?  In case you don’t watch Earl (and you really should), here’s Crabman:


I am convinced that Barton and Eddie Steeples, the actor who plays Crabman, are actually twins who were separated at birth.

And while I’m on the subject of players who remind me of TV characters, I can’t look at cards of Dan Giese, a pitcher for the Yankees, without thinking of Don Geiss, the fictional CEO of GE on 30 Rock.  I assume that their last names are pronounced the same way (Geiss is pronounced like “dice”).  Yankees fans can correct me if I’m wrong.  Unfortunately there’s no resemblance between the two, except that Dan Giese might end up looking like Don Geiss in about 30 years.
